Asian Meals Rendang Paste

Last Saturday I tried my hands at making chicken rendang using one of the Asian Meals instant mix. I'm always skeptical when it comes to cooking with an instant mix ESPECIALLY when it's a rendang mix. This is from experience cooking abroad, when Raya comes around and I've kept the rendang mix that I brought from home just for this time of the year. It has always been a disappointment.

Like most Tupperware lovers, when you get the catalogue you usually skip through the other non tupperware related products and jump right into the colourful plastic pages. So it was only natural that I skipped this particular page when I got this month's catalogue as well,

But during my last visit to the shop, a lady walked in and asked for just 2 items, the Sambal Tumis mix and the Rendang mix. So I thought to myself, why would she come all the way jst to get 2 packets of instant mix and that made me want to try it myself. I got a pack of rendang and sambal tumis mix but I've only managed to cooked using the rendang one, so will let you know how it goes with the sambal tumis one later.

2 packs per box, each pack is for 2-3 person

It took awhile to cook because you have to wait for it to "dry" up but it's worth the wait. I made a slight modification as well, because we wanted to be healthy, we added plain yogurt instead of santan. Not that this mix is not healthy already, it has No MSG, No Trans Fat, No Preservatives, No artificial flavours and colours and it's Gluten Free.

Again, as mentioned, I was skeptical on the whole rendang instant mix thing that I actually served it in my Blossom mircowaveable tupperware set, just so that I could keep it in the refrigerator and heat it up again the next day if we couldn't finish it in one sitting. But what do you know, we gobbled up the whole thing and there weren't any left overs. It was SO good!

Anyway, this would be a great addition during Hari Raya, when you have an open house or need to whip up a quick meal when there's too many guest.

So please email tupperwarestash@gmail.com if you would like to purchase. It's only RM 12 (2 packs per box) for you lovelies :)
